Sunny yellow crocus

Today, at the allotment, there were a few tiny signs that Spring might be on its way. Our rainbow chard hadn’t died after being replanted, the sad little pile of soil that was a rhubarb had a wrinkly new leaf peeking out of it, and the plum tree outside our flat had at least three blossoms bravely facing the early March winds. Oh yes, and this lovely little crocus of course! The bright egg-yolk yellow of the flower  cheered me immensely on this grey day.

Not long until Japan now, either! I’m hoping to see lots of the above. I want a profusion of blossomy goodness! Billowing and fluttering in the breeze! At the moment though, this one by itself is just fine.

This is a slice of cheesecake that I had at Christmas. Is it huge, or does it look quite lovely?
